Frequently, I am asked to provide tour guide services of
Newport and the surrounding area for individuals and their
families or corporate contacts. It is my pleasure to welcome
guests who want an easy, yet exclusive way to take an in-depth
look at what Newport has to offer by contracting their own local
guide.
Typically, the guests themselves, or their agents or local
hospitality services staff, will contact me in advance of their
arrival and together we will plan a special itinerary to suit the
guest's allotted time and specific interests. I have arranged
sightseeing for a single day, or for a whole week, including sidetrips
to museums and sites in Bristol, Watch Hill and Providence.
No two custom tours are ever alike, which is what makes these
programs fun to do! I have spent whirlwind days with individuals
who are intensely interested in Colonial Newport's old houses and
fine 18th century furnishings, and three-day weekends with
couples and their family who cannot get their fill of mansions and
magnificent gardens. Occasionally, it is possible to arrange
preferential hours at historic sites and receive exclusive tours
apart from the general public. I have also joined guests as their
guide aboard privately chartered yachts for harbor tours and allday
boating excursions in Narragansett Bay.
Fees for guide service for private parties of 1 to 6 guests begin
at $275 for half-day itineraries; transportation and admission
tickets are not included. Generally, private parties engage
chauffeured limousines, town cars or vans from local
transportation vendors, or arrive with their own drivers and
vehicles.
